The D5 transducers are for displacement / position measurement. They make an accurate position measurement of the movement of the armature (the sliding part) relative to the body of the displacement transducer.
This transducer uses the Linear Variable Differential Transformer (LVDT) principle which means that it is probably the most robust and reliable position sensor type available. The strength of the LVDT sensors principle is that there is no electrical contact across the transducer position sensing element which for the user of the sensor means clean data, infinite resolution and a very long life. The LVDTs are available as either unguided or spring return versions.
To support and enhance the functionality of these transducers, the following mounting blocks are available. We recommend that at least two mounting blocks are used per transducer. For units with a longer stroke, three or four may be necessary to ensure stability and accuracy.

- MB01 Mounting Block: Designed for ACT/DCT/DCW/DCTH/LDC Series; made of nylon with steel bolts. Temperature range: -20 to +110°C, includes two M5x25mmL bolt-down screws. Suitable for 20.6mm body transducers.

- MB02 Mounting Block: Suitable for 8 or 9.5mm diameter sensors; made of 30% glass-filled nylon. Temperature range: -20 to 110°C. Dimensions are 23.8x30x10mm with 2x M5x25mm bolt-down screws and an M3x20mm clamp screw.
