The 2 Axis XY Cartesian robot from Shibaura Machine (formerly Toshiba Machine) is designed for high precision and low maintenance, incorporating oil-free seals in LM guides and ball screws. This feature ensures that the robot requires no maintenance for an extended period, enhancing operational efficiency and reducing downtime.
The robot is equipped with a compact AC servo motor, which shortens the total axial length, making it suitable for applications where space is limited. Models with longer effective strokes have been added to the series, expanding the operating ranges of these robots.
The maximum loading mass for a single axis in a horizontal configuration is 250kg, while the X-Y two-axis combination supports up to 100kg. The robot offers a maximum stroke of 4450mm, providing extensive reach for various applications. The maximum speed for ball screw-driven models is 1200mm/s, and for timing belt-driven models, it is 2000mm/s. Positioning repeatability is 0.01mm for ball screw-driven models and 0.04mm for timing belt-driven models, ensuring high precision.
The robot is equipped with an AC servo motor featuring an absolute encoder, which eliminates the need for home position return, simplifying operation and setup.
